An Idea for TS3 SIM tour.

Postby djarvik » Tue, 02 Jun 2009 17:41

What do you guys think if the SIM tour will have one rule only:

- Only players that were included in TS3 are allowed.

No custom characters.

Yes, you can say that most will choose Fed, but I know Rob will play with Roddick, Seth will play with Nalbandian....and plenty more will go with Murray. Singleton is not half bad either.

This will allow for more variance in game play, more contrasting styles of play.

What do you guys think?

Yes, good idea, and I like Nalbandian more than Fed also.

Yes and no. I think we should proceed with what we already have, and take it from there. A mix of both could be nice.

@Rob. I kind thought we hit a wall there.
Yes, we have "something"....but the variation of styles will still be very limited compare to the TS3 players that are included. We will have a number of rules that will need to be observed, making it a little hard on some people....

I just think no matter what limitations we will come up with, people are still going to maximize their baseline play, power will be maxed in 90% of players, so will be strokes.....etc. Yes, a small number of players will try to play out of the box ....but ultimately, the majority will still choose one style of play. Nothing bad really, just less variations then.

Either way, just wanted to reinvigorate the Idea of Simulated Tennis in TS3. :tu

I thought you liked what we had, and that we never found a setup or style that was the best. :? I know I never really figured out what was a 'maximized' setup.

Anyway, probably best to not discuss this here.

Yes. I liked it. When I said we "hit the wall" I meant... we will not discuss it here.

Anyway, I saw Sherlock typing something in VT2009 forum, and it hit me....maybe this is a Horrible Idea  Just wanted to get some feedback from the players, as this is not a "new rule" but a totaly new concept.....so....the poll....

i think if you came up with more stipulations on creating a character....min stm attribute of 70 should do a lot in making the stats more rounded and also only 1 attribute can be under 60 but still have 1 wing be 75 and only be allowed to have 1 90 attribute so it might look like this

80fh 50volley
70bh 90pwr
60srv 80spd
60ret 70stm

but....u could still make it anyway you wanted it just 70 min on stamina 75 max on one wing and only 1 attribute 59 and under and nothing below 50....no 40 attributes allowed not even volley....what do you guys think about that? i think that sounds like a pretty dang good idea myself?? anyone got any other suggestions or does anyone agree with me here?

I like the idea cause to find a good idea for the perfect sim character creation seems to go on and on .

I would use Federer or Borg.

Anyways the players are really balanced , and people are just not brave enough to actually play with a real "realistic " setup.

it would be a nice idea though the only player with a good backhand and single handed is Haas :?

I and we have been talking about it almost in the beginning of TS3 but still nothing concrete happened.

I kind of gave up on Ts3 cause it is just too 1 dimensional.

This sim tour might bring back the fun in the game for me cause none of the Pro players are über powerfull in whatever way.
