I never quite figured out what that meant either. I just know that's basically what the tip says.

I honestly don't know exactly when I start aiming, but I know it's pretty much right after I press down on the stick.

This is so hard! I can keep my serve close to the line, but not on the line.

That's what's so good about it. I certainly can't hit the lines every time.

Thanks Rob this helped.

interesting discussion...still...r u talkin' bout rt+lt or right stick serve?? :D

i just have one timing for all my serves...i press direction just a bit soon than my boy hits the ball, keeping triggers pressed, and that's it. i serve always in the same spot, except for one or two times per months when i serve with unexplainable ridicoulous angles. if i change the timing of direction buttons pressing, it's a fault. spots where the ball bounce do not change and if they do, they do it so slightly that's impossible to see it.months ago i tried every damned combination in this world, after playing vs bluebaws82 (ps3 gti n°1, best serve evah) but i can't understand how the heck i can put the ball ON the line instead of NEAR the line. oh well, not a problem, just sounds strange that sometimes happens...

Speaking of Bluebaws82, why doesn't he play here?

But everyone is talking about the right stick serve, to answer your question.

Yep, the buttons just don't have many different possible combinations. The stick does.

One of the biggest differences is that when you use the buttons there are only 8 directions you can aim - even if you use the left stick, it treats it as if you used the directional pad. When you serve with the right stick and aim with the left stick, the aiming is analog.

That's how it seems to me at least.

Sometimes, due to lagging, my close-to-line serves can be on the line. :P

At last the humiliation is over - 0-6 for sets  Bad decision by me, sorry Tantsupalavik, we should have switched where you played this and I played ITST Cup instead as it is more my level. You would have been able to offer more resistance to the top players than I did.

Don't even try to be smart against him, I guess this is too late now...
If I were to choose, he is the last opponent I want to play and he gets my vote.
And does setheleh change his style when he plays me? I have more problems with his return game than serving.

I agree. I think the only way to go is to try and get the first strike in and and look to overpower him. That probably goes for most of the top players too. lol I know you will enjoy playing against my style of play but hopefully we can have more of a competitive match. As for setheleh, I've never played him yet..

Retos is just crazy on the court. I'm pretty sure he's the one I've lost the worst too. It was like 6-2, 6-4 or something.
