I'll let him do the match report, but all I can say is I was blown off the court. I was in danger on everyone of my service games and I felt sluggish and weak compared to him. Good luck to him in the final :)

ahhh don't make is sound so one sided  it really was a very close affair.

I am actually very happy to get this win. I thought I was kinda loosing you there for a second....you know....you became "The Fed" of the tour very quick....so this counts as a big win for me at the moment. Big.

First set:
First few games started slow, till 2-2 we were holding each others serve very easy, with a few 15s. Then, after we tested each other with a few "testy" shots it was game on. I was really surprised at the quality of my serving which completely freed my return game. I was basically able to experiment on returns game and that I did. At 4-4 I broke and then served out for the match.

Second set:
Being aware of Alex's stamina (House), I knew I had to take this set and if at all possible to break and break early. I had 3 break points that set, one in each different game.....no conversions. End of the set, 5-6 me serving to stay alive we had a few deuces and I felt really tired (Nakamura). I finally held and tie break was on. We held to 2.1, then I broke Alex twice, he broke back once...we held till the end with me winning 7.5

Happy to be back in the final and happy to have a shot at another title. My last one was last year's WTF and YEC.

Thanks Alex for kind words and fun match!
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

Coke4 defeats Godzin 6-2 6-2 in Dubai R16

1st Set:I manage to open up a 15-40 lead on his serve, he saved them but i got a few more break points and managed to take one of them them then hold to 30 to open up a 2-0 lead. We then both held until 4-2 when i managed to get a few more break points, i took one of them and then held easily to take the set 6-2.
2nd Set:We both held comfortably, me more so than him, until 2-2. I managed to open up a 0-40 lead on his serve at 2-2, he brought it to duece and had many game points and i had some more break points, i finally managed to break. I then held and got more break points in his next game, i again broke and served it out easily.

Tactics/Match Feel:I decided to mix my retuns, hit 50% risk and 50% non risk, i feel it worked really well as he was never sure of what return was coming. I also realised i had to attack his slices to get any results. I varied my serve but decided to not use the kickserve as he destroyed it in our Aussie Open match. I also was using my new character for the first time. I felt a slight difference, especially with backhand, with playing from the back of the court, but the added speed and stamina helped me get to balls, and short slices, earlier so i could time better.

stats

If i could do that point over again i would have done a hard serve wide :(
I went for the nervous approach a slice down the middle :(
Damn I played soo well I can't believe the points he got back..
Some times I thought I had won the point and then he does a risk shot 1 handed running!!!

unfortunately I understand u very well.I lost today an incredible match with pocho89.
me(nakamura)-pocho89(striker):61 67 46
first setI dominated him.I broke him twice and won easily 1rst set.My return worked really good and he couldn't hit any volley.
second sethe first serve and I broke him suddenly.at that point I had only to hold my serve to win.I was doing it easily untill then.
but on 3-1 he broke him..we held our serve untill tie break.I broke him suddenly...I serve on 6-4.2 matchpoints...first: I made a double faults.my first and only double faults of the match.I never made a df on match point during my "itst career".second:I missed a return.he won 86.

what a crazy match!he played very good after first set...
before the match I thought I lost...but not in this way!
this year I lost some close and incredible match in sim...I can't believe it!!!

Tonedawg1 Def Brgerflipr 6-2 1-6 6-4
1 set: i broke immediately and held and broke again and won the set pretty comfortably
2 nd set i had my chances but my l2 game completely left me i felt overwhelmed and though it was over and i only won one game
3 rd set: i said "screw it" and started double trigger shots alot and l2 on some. i went up 3-0 he won his game so then it was 4-1 he won anpther service game and i was up and then went up 5-3 but he broke my serve i got scared because he was blasting forehands NO MATTER WHAT if i hit to the fh i was screwed i mean i would hit it all the way to the other side of the court with l2 and he would get it and pound it. luckily i got a few lucky returns in and broke again very difficult game for me to win.
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm :P

It was definitely a see-saw, back and forth match. I thought that once I broke you to make it 4-5, that I had a good shot at winning. But you broke me right back and deserved the win.

Well played my friend, very well played. I'm rooting for you to win the whole thing dude.

i say : tiebreak is not a lottery!!
mostly the player who makes more points at all in the match -this player wins mostly the tiebreak.
only when you have two player with same skill in tie break - than its about who have more luck .

Only a few posts above we've seen the opposite 8)

Andman666 won 17 more points, a whole load more winners, but lost both tie breaks and the match.

A lot comes down to the mental game and some luck (lottery) in the tie-break in my view.
