I can´t believe i won this match, was very similar to the match i played in QF with likos, i was not comfortable with your game and your service was too solid, and play against a S&V player is dificult, points were very fast and u didn´t miss a volley.
Are u thinking to use Jansen in US Open?

Yes Its possible. But its surely depends of my opponent.

Vs You, i can take you time on return with kick serve volley.
And much aggresive on return games.

3 sets win is different, maybe more hard to stay at a high level on serve and volley.

Vs Likos, i will have my chance with house with spin shots and change of pace at the back of the court mixing serve and volley well.

But im not surprised i can play well with jansen, its well for my offensive quality.

Certainly another possible option of play.Pretty fun.

Very close match. I struggled a bit on my return earlier because he was serving very well but the I managed to get on the right position when returning and improved in that aspect. Basically, the match was decided on tiebreaks. In the final set tiebreak I was a break up but he quickly erased it to level things on. Then I got 2 mini breaks and finally serve for the match (7-4). I have to give him credit because he played very well, it could go either way :)

It was a very close match but I was playing my first match in 3 weeks so I'm not disappointed I was only broken once with bishop which is pretty good going. Well played lerc

marlon is one of the best in S&V, but he is good playing with that style because he can do much more than S&V, he returns very well, his defence is excellent and is a fantastic baseliner too, is very complete.

Nito crushes Calvkln 6-4 , 6-1 , 7-6

Not much to say, I was out played, I struggled on nearly everyone of of my service games...90 percent of Nito's returns were hit deep with L2, rallies were over before they started. The few winners I had were all at the net...I don't have the fight in me anymore. I was ready to get off of the court to watch james blake play novak....james lost, go figure....good luck in the finals....

RILEY108 BEATS JOSENYLUND R16 US OPEN

1ST SET

JOSE SERVES 1ST I IMMEDIATLEY BREAK HIM AFTER HE WAS 40-15 UP BUT HE IMMEDIATLEY BREAKS BACK AFTER SOME NAIL BITING SERVING FROM THE BOTH OF US IT GOES TO THE TIE BREAK, I IMMEDIATLEY GET THE MINI BREAK BUT HE INSTANTLY REPLIES AT 3-3 I THINK I GOT 2 MORE MINI BREAKS THEN SERVE OUT FOR THE SET.

2ND SET

we hold comfortably till 3-3 then i brak his serve to love i then hold on just about to take the set after some long rallies with some good defence and attack from the both of us..

3RD SET

i serve 1st jose immediatley breaks my serve he holds his following serve then so do i but after my serve i break back with just pure risk returning winners :D i serve and hold comfortably then i break his serve again i think to lead the mach 5-3 im sure but im pretty sure i do know i had to serve out to win the match, anyway i serve at 5-3 i think jose immediatley goes 30-00 up but i responded with out wide and down the tape serving hitting the lines 4 times in a row to take the match :D

it was a very tough match i had my serve pressured throughout jose is a great player i hope not to meet him again, next up in the QF will proberley be maximo so i can wave goodbye to the us open coz i just cant seem to beat that guy....... but who knows

US OPEN MSS R16 Marlon straights sets Likos 7-6, 7-5, 6-4

What can i say, marlon was the better player today, he was playing like federer!

1st set: We both held pretty easily our serves, with some 40-30's and if i remember right, marlon had 1 or 2 bp, which i saved easily. Tie break, we both had our chances, especially me which i blew up a set point in my serve, and marlon took the next two points to grab the set.

2nd and 3rd set: That first set got into my mind for not taking it and marlon played great here, he was almost always putting pressure on my serve and he had 6-8 b.p and one break each set was enough to seal the win.

P.s: Good luck for the rest of the tourney mate, always a pleasure playing you :)

Marlon defeats Likos in R16 of Us Open MSS

7-6 * 7-5* 6-3*

Stats:

Marlon Likos

% first serve 80 90
Win on first 77 68
Wi on second 84 55
Aces 4 4
Doubles F 1 0
Winners 65 53
Unforced errors 16 18
Break Points 2/11 0/2
Total Points 107 89

It was a great match.Likos is a terrible shotmaker. He can hit winners on the forehand with everywhere in the court.

I decided to play about 80% serve and volley, serve agressive and volley on his weak side backhand.Quite effective.Lots of free points. :)

On the return service i was focus on hit the ball to the backhand side and change the pace often for makes cannon tired.

Lots of battle of the back of the court, lots of offensive skills, really enjoy this one.

Likos was not at his best, feels little uncomfortable.I know when he s fired up, its hard to play him.

Good match my friend.A good simulation match.Hope we can,at our best both, lots of good battles.
