Wow so excited I just battled past Zizou 6-7 6-4 6-4 3-6 6-3 to make the semi finals!!!!!

I had beaten him the last two times we played including Wimbledon so I had confidence I could hold my own. First set no breaks but I felt confident in the breaker but he returned very well, especially after I came back from a double break 5-1 to 5-6 on serve before a return winner bagged him the set.

I was mad to have fought back only to lose out but I channelled it to break in the opening game and held to level up. At 1-1 in the third I broke again and was serving really well to stay on top.

The fourth stayed on serve but as stamina came into play it became tougher and tougher and he broke to 30 at 4-3 and served out.

In my first service game of the fifth I saved bp and in the next game had him at 15-40 but he brought it back to deuce. I felt if I could bag a break I would be able to hold on so I stayed positive and got the break. I was nervous serving out and he had a bp but I saved it and converted my first match point.

Now bring on Norberto!

Well my run is over 6-4 6-4 7-6. First game he hit two shanked returns which gave him the break and the set. Second he broke at 2-2 and that was that although I had bp when he was 5-4 30-40. Had 30-40 again first game of the third but he held and I double faulted in the first point of the breaker and that was that.

I tried mixing the pace up as I knew there was no point trying to out hit him but I couldn't get near the serve out wide and he hit 39 aces and plenty more unreturnable serves on top. Otherwise once the rally started I thought I did ok.

Great tournament though and looking forward to a good year. Well done Norberto.

You have a lot to be proud of. The most important think is that you have the feeling and experience under your belt! :)
