I am at work now, leaving in 30 minutes. Should be home in 1 hour. If you still on - lets play!

cool!

Also does anyone else have really big hands? The Sony controller usually does not work well with people who do (have big hands - I can easily palm a basketball).

Thats the biggest draw back of the Playstation vs Xbox or Nintendo.

Sony's controller ergonomics are just not as good IMO.

Thanks for the FYI, But I didn't ask for a lesson in English. If I don't express myself clear enough is because English is my 3rd language, sorry...sometimes I come across wrong.

The reason I assumed you don't play tennis in real life is because of what you wrote and also for the same reason you assumed I don't watch tennis on TV. Nothing more. How long do you play? Competitively? Just curious.

I think you will find that many other members share my outlook on this one.

Once again, you confuse pure skill with what game does for you. Game (TS3) makes you Aggassi, while in reality he is one of the kind.

As to your REAL question: Risk slices are by far cheesier. In fact, risk returning is not cheesy at all.

Its cool djarvik, i guess there was some 'loss in translation' going on.

I have been playing competitive league tennis for 1 1/2 yrs and am a 4.0. I've been playing recreationally since college (about 8 years off and on).

To me high risk returning is far less realistic. Some itst players go for risk on every return and make the majority of them in - which by definition makes it not risky...

Yeah, thats cool man! I think we never played before? did we? Add me on...lets play.

Don't take my Forum passions too seriously

Great to hear that you actually do play tennis competitively. Same here. Been playing 17 years now. Coaching for 13. Still cant get enough tennis!

well whats your tennis level since your a coach 1.0-7.0? :) dpending on your level i might hire you as my topspin 3 coach currently alex is my coach LOLOLOLOL jk... or not.

I trained in Israel. They don't go by this system.

If going by this (from reading):
http://tennisclub.gsfc.nasa.gov/tennis.ratings.html

6.0-6.5

Trouble is I am not young anymore, I have a torn ligament in my right knee and I usually play with people that are 4.0 4.5 so that all degrates my tennis :? But I can't say no to my wife  She is the one I play the most with.

I still think I can take a 5.0 apart

In TS3 skills - I am a solid 7.0...I definitely make a living playing ITST tourneys  8)

lol ok, irl im 4.0. im impatient when it comes to set ups in the rally i wont miss till they pop ball up and i miss  in ts3 im a 6.5 not definitely not a 7.0

I personally think that risk returns should only be used very little or in moderation. That being said, there are certain types of servers or servers you will need to risk a bit more against because your regular return will just suck ass. I think both risk returns and risk slice could be cheesy. A guy who spams risk returns is just as bad as a guy or continuously hits shallow risk slice, or hits a serve-slice combo (GAY)!

djarvik wrote:It's simple. The best risk returner on Xbox tour is Norberto. Look at his recent match results. Most are either 1 break a set or tie breaks. Close wins. AND he is the best.

If you are getting beat up by risk returners on a regular basis - your serve needs improvement. The success rate just doesn't justify risk returning 100% of the time. Mixing your returns yields far better results.

Also what do you mean by "risk"? Any risk? L2+R2? L2 alone or R2 alone?

i wanna be like him :) he only lost 3 times this year LOL and won 2/3 grand slams at the aussie open but picachu usually beats him but then pica loses to anteros alot but norberto can beat anteros hmmm so confusing LOL, Norberto must be a night mare to play against

Yeah watch out! You don't wanna get Norbertoed.

I dont believe risk return is cheesy at all , trust me it requires very precise timing , and its not easy , whereas risk slice is very easy to pull off

My only real annoyance with risk returns is that people seem to miss them much more than they make them. I guess I can't complain if people are just giving me free points for absolutely no reason, but it makes for a bit of a dull match. I don't necessarily think 20-30 shot rallies on every point is 'exciting' either, but 1-2 shot rallies on every point is definitely a little dull.

I'm with you, Jon.

I had a match yesterday against a guy who must have been holding LT and RT on literally every single shot for the majority of the first set. Everything was either a winner or went out/hit the net. (Come to think of it, I've played a lot of people like that in player matches.) Naturally, it went to a tiebreak, which I won because he hit so many shots out, but I ended up quitting on him. I normally never quit, but there was no way I was going to sit through another set of that. :yawn

I now know where (some) people are coming from when they call another person's style boring (I say some because some of them are just whiners). As I told the guy yesterday (I think he's an ITSTer), if that's how people want to play, that's fine, but you can count me out. I hate being used as a risk shot practice dummy. I may as well not even be on the court if you're just gonna hold both triggers down the whole time.

I think you mean duct tape?

But if not, I love this stuff too, I have all kinds of problems taping ducks to certain things... This is the only brand worth trying -
