Josenylund Saves 2 MP Beats Fedfan 6-7 7-6 6-4

Looking to build on his first group win Fedfan came out fully focused carving out at 15-40 opportunity in game 2. Josenylund saved the first with an ace but miss-timed a forehand on the second that saw Fedfan jump to a 3-0 lead. That only spurred Josenylund on though and a wild backhand error allowed Josenylund to come back to 3-3. Very few games were being easily won but no more break points arose so a tiebreak ensued. Again Fedfan got an early minibreak that was clawed back but some inspired returns saw Fedfan take it 9-7.

The second was as fiercely competitive as the first but no breaks led to another tiebreak. Josenylund got an early jump but he could no break clear, 6-5 match point, ace,6-6,6-7,7-7,8-7 match point, ace. Then after struggling on return a clutch forehand return gave Josenylund the breaker 10-8.

Fedfan didn't let his head drop in the third though but at 4-4 Josenylund put together his best returning game of the match to snatch a break before serving out to 30.

This was a really tough match that I was really up for against a player I had never beaten and even though I had match points in the 2nd breaker they were on his serve and he saved them rather than me losing them.

Dissapointed I couldn't take the third set to a breaker and then who knows, but I was happy to take a set, it could be crucial come the final standings.

sounds like a huge fight...
losing after 2 matchpoints is cruel... nearly the same like losing the 3rd set after a tie-break :?

Saw Josenylund beat Brgerflipr in 3 breakers to top the blue group and get one foot into the semi-finals.

I'll play Brger after he has played thecooler. If he wins it will be a winner take all battle for the semi-finals.

If thecooler wins we could be looking at a three way tie.

Has anyone heard from Djarvik, is he going to try and finish on a high?

I saw the deadline for the group matches is 19th. Come on guys I do not want to see walkovers in the final event of the year.

Brger beats Cooler 63 63.

Winner takes all my friend, even if Cooler pulls off a massive upset over Josenylund he is already into the semi-finals.

Brgerflipr beats Fedfan 76 64, Advances to Semi-Finals

Brgerflipr sealed a Semi-Final place by downing Fedfan 7-6 6-4 in a winner takes all match.

With both players knowing a win would take them through to the semi finals with Josenylund many expected a nervy match but serve dominated the match and a straightforward set hurtled into a tiebreak which Brger took 7-5 thanks too two min-breaks to Fedfans one.

Obviously rattled at the loss of the set a loose opening service game from Fedfan in the second set was swiftly taken advantage of by the World No.2 and there was no way back for the Brit.

Now regardless of the final group match Josenylund will top the group followed by Brgerflippr, courtesy of their H2H record.

Djarvik vs pink moozipan

6-4 6-4

I was honestly worried how would my first match after a break would play out. I am happy to say that I felt good actually. Didn't think I would be able to control the match the way I did. I did feel rusty during rallies and Pink was quick to expose it the first set, hitting more winners then me and generally being more aggressive in rallies. Thankfully, my serve worked well and to my complete surprise my return game clicked like never before. I really though that my return game would be the first to go....but glad to report it is still there. I got the break late in the set and closed it out.

In the second set I knew I had to be the aggressor as from past experience, Pink gets more aggressive on returns the later the match progresses and as he becomes more comfortable he nails many of them, putting me immediately on defense. I mixed the serve a lot, throwing in some odd serves to try and keep him of balance.

In the end, I believe my return game is what won me the match, it took some effort for Pink to keep his serving game and that hurt his returning game.

Congrats Pink for making it to end of the year championships!

2/2 on BP's. Now that's efficient. I've had matches where I've gone 0 for 20.

Djarvik vs The_Hoff78

6-4 6-4

Once again, I was able to deliver in returns department. While it was more sporadic this time, I did string enough to win each set. We had better, more close matches with The_Hoff78. This one started well but I was able to quickly gain control and maintain it.

Congrats to Hoff for making it to end of the year championship, he had a great season.

Things are looking very close in the Red Group, could end up with three players on one win unless Pink Moozipan beats Keinsabeq in which case he will complete the Semi Final lineup.

kiensabeq (P. Cuenca) vs. pink moozipan (N. Li) 4-6 6-3 3-6

my first serve had a really high percentage, but it was nearly useless and powerless because kiensabeq put me under huge pressure with his returns
on the other side he served well, 12 aces for him with his left handed player
it took some time until i had some feeling for the return, that wasn´t easy
on breakpoints he was really strong, so i couldn´t convert my chances to enlarge the distance in the 3rd set
we both had a lot of winners and the total points show how close it was at the end... well done kiensabeq!
