Just lost a ridiculous match against Josenylund, he was Gray i was Burns, the 1st set the level of play was so high every point was brilliant. I managed to claim the set 6-4. the 2nd set my serve went a little, and with decreasing stamina was losing power and footspeed, as well as gray risking and simply not missing, also the 90 return meant some insane returns, and i lost this set 1-6. The 3rd set was more of the same, and slipped 2-4 down. Then, i think a combination of gray becoming tired and me having a second wind, i won 3 games in a row, and had 40-15 (2 match points) at 6-5 up. I hit good returns each time but then gray would hit a perfect shot and i would lose the point, big story of the match. in the tiebreak, it is tit for tat, and then i get the minibreak serving at 6-5. I hit a perfect analog topspin shot to his backhand. run to the net and is a simple forehand volley off the return, except burns refuses to respond, runs past the ball, and then spasms. i got another match point on gray's serve and again hit a amazing return, that is just clubbed away. i then hit the net with a forehand and lose.

Final score 6-4 1-6 6-7, josenylund won a lot more points than me due to the domination of the 2nd set, however embarrasingly i was only 3/18 on break points. i couldnt really have played any better, better player won in the end, as josenylund took his chances much better! Best match for a long time.

Earlier in the day i finally beat a cannon, beating apathetically in a 1 set match 6-3.

also, one of my records fell with this match, before today i'd never lost a match i had match point in. i have one record left in that i've never lost a match that has gone to 5 sets, and i've had maybe 15

I just lost to maxopo who used nakamura in a tight game 5-7 4-6. I used my normal S&V tactics with Burns but i had a hard time. Nakamura came up with some crazy returns and passingshots which were difficult to volley. My volleys during rallies and approaches were great fortunately.
I converted 1\3 breakpoints, he 3\11

All in all a very fun and competetive game maxopo, expect a rematch soon :wink:

My SV % was rapidly dipping from 100% at the start of the match to about 20% by the end, the quality of returns was just too good. We recorded the match so you can all laugh at some of the volleys i binned

but there was some terrific shotmaking from both sides, so should have a few highlights!

Haha yea i usually shank a few volleys through the net, accompanied by a spasm move. I always laugh when i see that, it never gets annoying, well perhaps when it's matchpoint against :roll:

I usually hit them out of the lines. yeah can do i think im free most the weekend.

oh and i had a amazing upturn of form on break point conversion, from 3/18 against josenylund to 5/18 today!

Yes, it was very funny, already I said it to you before, you are the best volleyer with which I have played, do really amazing things in the net.

Well she has been very lacking in the kitchen department lately which is not a good thing , cos they say way to a mans heart is the stomach lol its ok i, thru in living room on the pc woo hoo im free lol i know that sounds bad but meh
