Soft but quick. Sometimes I really try to slam it on flat serves though.

I sometimes move inside the baseline just to intimidate my opponent, I try to send out a signal that I am gonna crush your serve, but usually it does not work and I get aced.![]()
I think as long as you don't abuse the slice return, then it is a legitimate tactic.
Slice wide serve is debatable since a lot of people are using it, it simply increases the ground you have to cover, but if you move and anticipate well, you can counter them even though occasionally you make a fool out of yourself.
To answer your question: no, I don't think I've ever cheesed!
However, a lot of people think dropshots are cheesy...

He is the same person who complained I used dropshots.

By the nature of the game, there isn't much that you can call cheesy - nearly everything that would have been cheesy on other games can be countered.
So unless you've stood out wide to serve, or stood inside to hit risk slice returns, I think you can honestly say you never cheesed.
I've certainly cheesed against cheesers in XBL matches. When someone serves from the sidelines, I'll do the same - except mine are pretty much unreturnable.
EDIT: I see you were posting as I wrote this. Stop doing that!
joesixtoe wrote:picachu i'm the one who talked about the drop shots.. so I guess that means you think I cheese?? anyway before the update yes the drop shots I think where tough to get too cause the player moved toward the net sideways to get to it lol... then when I started trying to learn the drop shot I won 90% of my points against players... so before the update yes I think using the drop shot a lot was a bit cheesy... BUT now after the update its not like that anymore.. the character sprints up to the net, and you can attack the ball.... i hardly win the point when I use the drop shot now...
