So the only real suggestion on improving the tour would be more players?

I am afraid WS SIM would be tough. I think we may struggle to fill 16 player draws and that would not be a good tour. However I am willing to try and setup a test tourney (like the Djarvik Open) with a few WS SIM player setups after the Wimbledon. Just a bit busy at the moment. If Anil would be so nice to help me with "players". We can then see what kind of showing we get and go from there.

@ILuvBillVal - we have tried a few "systems" but the idea of "system" is just begging to be abused. ...so it was. Any system we came up with, was basically a limitation of stats as you suggest. What happens in any such system is that players tent to find a winning setup (or 2) withing hours of testing.....and you end up with a tour that is one dimensional. Hence the system of pre-created players came in. It basically forced you to chose a style and play with a weakness attached to that style.

Just a suggestion, but it'd nice for the SIM tour to be a little more strict, so it's more like tennis. Ban cheesy tactics. I'd start w/ dropshots & short risk slices.

Hey m8 i respect u a lot , but ban drop shots??? Surely thats better than the power hitting tennis a lot SIM stands against??

It's the unrealistic dropshots I have a problem with. For example:

1) you charge up and hit a 100+ mph fh / bh, your opponent is scrambling to barely get it......... and then he hits a dropshot for a winner.

2) dropshot after a serve.

Regular dropshots, used like in real tennis. I'm cool w/ that. Roger hits a beautiful dropshot, but I've never seen him hit a DS winner after an opponent smashes a FH / BH at him.

And andy, with our fearless leader djarvik now having to be a fair, objective "senior host". It'll be up to me to cause trouble. :-)

The new rule is you can only hit risk shots if you're very very very handsome. Therefore you my friend, are fine.

What about something like:
Max 75 power
All stats minimum 60
Max 1 stat at 90

I feel like it would be pretty hard to abuse that. I mean, sure a lot of people might pick high forehand and backhand, but then I think another person could opt for speed and counter that pretty well. I mean it's just an idea, obviously I understand what you mean about people abusing any system and ultimately adding more players is cool.

And like I said I really like fedfans idea about the year end world number 1 getting to make a new player given certain guidelines maybe.

Shouldn't you totally 'abuse' your character's strengths, though?? That's the basis of any high-level tennis strategy. I know what you mean I guess, I just enjoy being a contentious dick

BTW I just signed up for a SIM tournament so....here I come, or something.
