Just played Fedfan for R32 and i won 6-3, 6-0. I was excepting to be evenly matched, but it seems that xbox is a bad influence

1st set: Fedfan broke me immediately and i was a bit baffled at the beginning. We had some great rallies with Fedfan having the upper hand mostly. Then at 2-0 i broke him back and then my game started to click. I managed to get another break and i almost got another but he hold on his serve this time, and i served it out 6-3.

2nd set: I broke immediately this time and i was ruling the match. I was holding very easily and i didn't have any resistance at his serve. Is was an easy match for me despite the predictions. I hope we have a better match next time my friend.

Another controller bit the dust during the match, will have to get a new one tommorow.

I really can't adjust to SIM on PS3, and when it goes a bit awry I just cant be bothered and fall to bits, sorry I did not try harder in the second set I just wasn't in the right frame of mind.

Got beat by Ovhij 6-1 7-5. He was cannon and i was thompson. First set, his cannon with high stamina destroyed my porr wee thompson, i didnt even play bad :)
Second set was much closer. I was working him as his stamina dropped and it seemed i was in teh driving seat, as i brought up 2 break points at 4-4. He then saved them with pretty sweet serves and follow ups. He then went on to break at 5-6. I managed to save one of the mps before firing a backhand(was it?) wide.

Stats were very similar :P

Not sure about serves.
Me/Ovhij
Aces - 5/6
DF's - 0/1
Winners - 44/44
Errors - 11/10
BP's - 0/4 : 4/16

And i cant remember total points. There was nothing else i coulda done. Except maybe play the way i did in teh second all teh way through, but i got the feeling the method i used in teh 2nd set would have been much elss effective in teh first.

Well Played Ovhij!

Maximo (Nakamura) def. Likos (Cannon) 7-6, 6-7, 6-4

1 set: We won our serves comfortable, i think i had 2 bp and him 1, but we saved without problem, in the tie break i got a mini break inmediatly, and quickly i dominated 4-0 ( with some lucky points  ), but i relaxed too much and likos recovered the 2 mini breaks, finally i could win the tie break 9-7 i think.

2 set: Likos was much more aggressive than me in this set, great movements and fantastic shots, i had to save several bp and i was lucky playing at least the tie break, but he destroyed me 7-2.

3 set: likos made some unforced errors in the first game and i broke him, i could play more relaxed this set, with 5-3 and his service i had 15-40, but he saved both mp easyly, he saved one more with my service and 40-15, but finally i could win the last point with a good service.

It was a very hard match, i was very passive, only my service let me win the match. Well played mate!!!!

coke4 battles past Tombvs 6-2 6-2

1st Set: He starts off and holds comfortably to love then I hold, i then get 30-40 and break for 2-1 then hold. At 4-2 i get 15-40 and take the first bp to break then serve out the set

2nd Set: I get a break point at 30-40 straight away but he saves it, i get another and take it then hold then break again, at 3-0 he got 30-40 but i saved it, then at 4-1 he got 15-40 but again I produced the goods to save them. It goes on serve for rest of set and i take it 6-2.

Overall this was a scrappy game, some great points but lots of UE's and my 1st Serve count was very low, however i really played well on big points.

Stats
coke4 | Tombvs
48% 1ST Serve % 90%
87% Win on 1st Serve 53%
59% Win on 2nd Serve N/A
2 Aces 0
1 Double Faults 0
30 Winners 14
21 Unforced Errors 14
4/6 Break Points 0/3
56 Total Points won 39

jwestbury drops AUSSIE

1st set: It started off close we had quite a few cross court topspin battles which when on his forehand side usually got on top. But when I got onto my backhand I could dictate. He through the occasional dropshot on serve to put me off and I'm assuming to tire my player kinda worked.

2 set: It was a tight set in the way that I couldn't get much on his serve because he used dropshot almost everypoint. Which made it hard to do anything because I'm not used to people using drop shot all the time. Tried deep L2 topspin shot but dropshot still worked and when I got it and approached net I would sometimes get R2 sliced. R2 shots worked but it wasn't as consistent enough to break.I loved by 40 hold using just dropshots thinking oh maybe that will show him not really lol. I tserhink he got me to 0-40 at one stage on ve managed to survive and take it to tiebreak. Tie break he did 3 dropshots and won it by quite a bit and used his forehand to move me about.

3rd set: Asking him whether he has to dropshot every point probably didn't help he did it more because he probably knew it was pissing me right off and he started to do it on my serve which started to get him into my serve. Also on his serve the few times he didn't dropshot were still hard to win because I was always trying to get the dropshot which I could win a few points on but it wasn't anything reliable. I had a few chances to break but couldn't get it. He eventually broke me (I think with a dropshot lol). The last service game was pretty tense and I saved 4 match points before been beaten by a dropshot lol.

So does anyone know how to stop dropshots? Because when I got them it was random when I would win the point. Oh also this is the first match in which defeat is actually really annoying and felt I should've won. Oh and delete him off friend list sorry jwes but never want to play you ever again  Oh well I thought I was going to win my first match today because I was playing really well against randoms coming through some really close excellent matches with insane shots. Wasn't expecting to come up against a drop shot machine. Although I think better players will be able to destroy this tactic by attacking the serve more consistently because it was pretty much in same spot all the time and not killer fast but risk return from serves doesn't work all the time for me and my deep softer and hardish crosscourt returns didn't result in points.
