Not doubting you, but I've never noticed that. Seems like a fair trade for the added difficulty of stick serving.

, sounds fair Rob.
Ok guys here's my two pence on linedancing. I think it is erroneous to do an eye for an eye and link line dancing to stick/freeze glitch serving.
First of all, roddick animation stick/freeze serving is a glitch...if you as the returner don't move and the ball isn't served in your wingspan, its likely gonna be an ace. If you move, you reduce the chances, so in this instance line dancing or moving = survival!
But Rob, you being the major voice of reason on the tour, allow me to paint a scenario for you. In real life, the umpire will call "play" before any ATP match only when he has glanced at both players and the audience to see if there is no disturbance. This time also allows the returner to get into returning position....
Similarly, we need to have this courtesy extended on the ts3 tour, just for the 1st point of the match.
Now as for returning, seriously guys I have played players who through their line dancing are successful returners but then again I have played players who through line dancing make RuPaul shaking his/her ass in Mardis Gras look like an amateur and they cannot connect with the ball once! So line dancing is far from being a glitch...
Whether the opponent wants to return while sitting on the umpire, sitting down in the stalls or with their **** hanging out at the net (similar to the service line returning crap in WT we see) it should be up to them.
The poll Coolhand Texas started clearly shows there is support (strong) for line dancing to continue. The problem with banning it is
regulation (i.e how are you going to regulate this as it is the opponents word vs the other opponent) and
granularity (i.e is it two steps from side to side or 10 steps and who the F is going to count that in a tense match situation?). Imagine what kind of ammunition you will be giving the losers feel good club of the tour...people who already try and nitpick at their opponents game, send post match lambasts, quit during the match e.t.c. Now they can also lay claim to their belief that "Equity line danced! I SWEAR! He moved 4 times from side to side not 2 times! CHEATER CHEATER!"
There would be no way to prove anything and it just doesn't make any sense. In the end, a visual disturbance is all what line dancing is at its best. In real life on the ATP tour, Kaarsten Braasch's serve is such a freakin eye sore, but its not been banned right? Tracy Austin, Zhen Jie and many others have their own form of samba before return...
Personally, I don't line dance anymore because I've noticed that overall it hurts return accuracy
