Should we have fat, 6'9 characters here at ITST, that move from side to side on the baseline when you serve just for the sheer hell of it, do they piss you off even before you hit a ball because its just looks ridicules and noises you up something stupid!

yes, we need all types of players.

I'm gonna make a character as short as possible and as fat as possible.

The only advantage I could foresee a tall/fat character POSSIBLY ever having, is maybe a slight reach advantage? Even then I don't really care to be honest, having rules restricting the player's build would be kinda weird IMO...

Honestly anyone who plays matches outside the ITST knows that characters come with all types of setups and all sorts of body types. The WT is filled with 100 FH BH PW and SPD players. It takes some strategy to beat them...which makes it exciting for me. It's good practice IMO. If I'm beaten I never pm and opponent that he stood inside the baseline, or he cheated by moving his character to successfully serve out wide. Why change a player's tactic to win? Just adjust your game to the opponent's style of play and figure out how to become victorious. That's what tennis is. That's pretty much the game in a nutshell. Too much time wasted discussing why a player does this or that. It's so incredibly annoying to me.

The tour would be boring if it were one type of player for it. :( All types are important, no matter the game.

you are right. i agree with you. WT is a free rules competition.
but here by itst most player like realismus, in a way for ""realistic tennis"
so itst restricted stats.
and we discuss about sim rules, more reduced stats ,double risk returns and and and.
SO ITST is follow a way of tennis.
you ever saw a 151 kg 204 cm guy on a real tennis court my friend?
i dont think so .

So where do you draw the line? I can understand the 90/40 setup rule but when you begin restricting weight and height of a player? It seems a little ridiculous to me. This is still a game. Continuing to restrict certain effects of the game is only going to lower ITST member numbers. Trust me.

ok guys you are actually taking this too literally, its all about the bravado and sportsmanship. I wasn’t for one second suggesting that we all conform to a certain set-up, I just think its leaning towards WT sort of standards rather than what we all know and love about ITST. For a newbie to come up against that sort of player skilled or not in my opinion tarnishes our image and could drive people away. But it’s a poll ,I was just putting it out there and it looks like its 50/50 that potentially share my point of view. 8)

as example weightlimit 100kg and size 200 cm .
with this you can create every possible player and style.
its only my opinion.
i say clearly ,that equieti is a high skilled player. and very good too.
only his player and dancing is

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the taller players have a definite reach advantage, like in real life...I'm not convinced that the weight matters, though.

Well considering the poll is dead even right now, obviously quite a few people do care

I could see a case for banning any kind of 'jumping around' or moving on the baseline while you're trying to serve- that would actually really annoy me, and in real life it's totally illegal as a matter of fact, it's called a 'hindrance'.

Like adimu187 said though, I think people just concentrate on other people's players, tactics, stats etc, and it's just not a good way to think, it's really much easier and less stressful to just worry about yourself and your own game.

Agreed. I don't know about going so far as to make a rule, but it's kind of gamesmanship.

i got a guy who is 6'8 and muscular, i notice against slices on the run he tends to bash it in the net a lot. im gradually toning down my basliners anyway, playing a lot more with my Sv'er

Everyone is going to have their own opinions about what they like and dont like it and thats why some people like the colour red but others like yellow  ...so in light of this my list of ITST Likes & Dislikes:

LIKES

2. Volliers
3. Players with variety of shots
4. Players with good sportsmanship during & after the game
5. Realistic tennis player characters & pro created characters

2. People who winge after the game citing their poor game that lost them the match
3. Players (& this includes some of the top top players who are good because they know how risk shot on every point with accruacy - sorry Murda, i have changed my opinion a bit only because i am coming across more and more people who do this and to be honest its getting quite boring)
4. People of suck up to other people on the forum
