Wireless

Postby maximo » Tue, 07 Sep 2010 22:35

Hi, i have had sometimes problem playing with people who have wireless, and from my experience i think that if other person is using internet at the same time you are playing online sure that there will be lag in the game, i would like that u give your opinion, if u agree with me, or i am saying something stupid.

I agree, and i have my ps3 wired. Also before a match i switch off the wireless from the modem to minimize lag and to be sure that its only me that im using the internet at that moment.

absolutly true.
but not only wireless internet people have to do that.

every people where have less than DSL 16000 have to do that.
also the guys with a modem

at best everybody must stopp other applications during onlinegaming !!

in fact every application who works during onlinegaming takes speed and diturbs gaming!!

I have tested it my self, since I have 2 Xboxes in different rooms. One is wireless and another wired. Wireless ALWAYS has more lag. Even with no applications running etc...

I havn't even activated my wifi, wire to both the computer and the ps3 and while playing I pull out the wire from the computer.

In any case wireless has always been crap for gaming as its not always very stable (and slower), you can often lose signal for a second or two which can result in a disconnect/lag spikes.

Yep, wireless connections for gaming are a no-no. That's probably the cause of a lot of lag that most people run into with other players..
