Tips on making matches less laggy

Postby JJ_DUBZ_87 » Mon, 07 Feb 2011 20:54

Anybody have tips to help make matches go smoother online? Freeing up the hard drive? Unplugging controllers and headsets?

Any tips would be helpful bc I hate playing laggy matches...as do most of you I assume.

Pray to the gods of Top Spin! Make a sacrifice, burn something while singing any on the sound tracks from the game, as loud as you can.

Maybe the games dedicated servers, if there are any, has something to do with it. I've had laggy matches lately, some unbearably so. But I never experienced lag when I played Warhawk, And one would think that game requires greater bandwidth than TS3. But extremely popular games probably have more servers on the psn network or something like that. Lets face it, us tennis fanatics are in short supply relatively speaking

as a sidenote, what are the odds of TS3's servers being deactivated with TS4's release? Kind of like motorstorm when motorstorm:pacific drift came out.

That would be odd...I played TS2 about a year ago against djarvik and the servers were obviously up.

If you're going through a router, make sure you have something relatively new. N series routers are always nice, just watch out for your NAT. You can also try creating a DMZ, though it makes you a tad vulnerable and personally I don't notice much of a difference, although many people swear it makes your connections faster.
