coke overcomes strong hoff challenge to win 7-6(1) 6-2 4-6 6-2

Really great match with loads of great rallies and lots of break. Real clean match, as close as you can come to real tennis in 90/40.

1st Set I hold straight away to 30 then manage to get a few b/p, one of which i take after i anticipate an outwide serve then hit a L2 crosscourt return. I then hold for a 3-0 lead. I thought i was home and dry in the set but at 4-2 he manages to break back. I get 15-40 on his serve at 4-5 but he saves them both with aggressive play. We get to the TB but i am able to stroll through it, taking it 7-1.

2nd Set I get 0-40 straight away on his serve, he saves the first one but i take the second one to break for 1-0, i then hold for 2-0. I manage to break again at 3-1 I think after getting a 0-40 in which he saved the first but failed to save the second. I serve it out at 5-2 for 6-2.

3rd Set He changed up his serve, using more power and less placement and i struggled to return it and he started to hold easier. The set was looking destined for a TB with both of us holding easily, however at 4-5 he manages to get 30-40 and converts it with a deep L2 top spin return winner to my BH side.

4th Set Realising i needed to break his momentum i start going for more placement on my returns, i get a good read on his serve and with some good baseline play i take my chances, breaking twice and storming to a 4-0 lead. It goes on serve for the rest of the set and I serve out the match at 5-2 to take the match.

Us Open R16: Likos gets past Petrelli 7-5, 6-3, 6-4

Great match, i think petrelli deserved at least a set because he overally played a great match and had his unfortunate moments.

1st set: We were playing a very even set and i thought we were going to tiebreak straight away but at 6-5 i had two bp's and i managed luckily to convert the 2nd one by petrelli's mistake(he netted an easy down the line shot)

2nd and 3rd set: I think i broke early in those two sets and i was mostly focusing in my service games and when i had my chances to break once more, petrelli was saving them with ease i must say. He pushed me 3 times on my serve but i played some clutch tennis and saved all of them.

Match Statistics (Likos/Petrelli)
First Serve Percentage: 92/97
Second Serve Percentage: 77/100!!
Aces: 2/1
Double Faults: 0/0
Winners: 59/43
Unforced Errors: 14/16
Break Chances: 3/8, 0/3
Total Points: 98/76

Andymachine bt RVCobra 4 2 ret , totally a hollow victory for me :( he was having numerous connection problems and we had tried many times to play and restart and restart , the last restart we cut out at me up 4 2 in first set so he gave me the retirement :(

And he didnt have much time to play at all this week , so i feel bit bad bout this , but Nitoflament awaits and that gonna be a nightmare ....

Thank you andy, probably i played in regular form and you did not do very much during my games, you had some unforced errors and this it was the difference. Good luck with your commitments.

It was a good match with some points very funny for being MS, the key of the match was the service, i won my service more comfortable, probably because the wind was blowing and I could adapt better.
Well played mate, always is a pleasure play with you

Very good match for ms, we all know how good you serve and you came to the match with 90 on serve. I said, thats it, im dead  . Solid service games from you and your returning was top notch as well.

Good luck for the rest of the tourney my friend
