Wow dude, that's ridiculous. I can't even begin to imagine how incredibly frustrating that must have been.

Nah, thankfully VT 2009 doesn't have that glitch. The lag can be quite annoying at times, though.

It sounds really weird and I know that doesn't really make any sense, but it was there, just ask literally anybody who's played VT3 online.

That was a big part of what brought out a lot of nastiness in people.

A lot of people would abuse this by going to the back of the court if they were behind in a rally....incredibly, maddeningly annoying; probably the most annoying glitch I've ever played, in any game. I still have nightmares of hour long VT3 matches (the ranked matches were only 3 games) where my opponent simply wouldn't let me get past a certain score. They'd just pull that glitch over and over and over and over until you quit

Ahh yes..when I think back of my VT3 days the "let" glitch is the first thing that comes to mind. The netcord glitch was also very annoying.

Anyway, I just got a damning match report made against me from an itst match accusing me of of being a "cheesy idiot" with abusing dropshots and short slices, also being nothing more than a risking ballbasher. So if anyone plays me and also feels that I'm being a cheesy idiot, please quit on me straight away and I will give you the match. Thanks

Ha ha ha!! What the heck does that even mean? Dude, I have to use that line on somebody.

jayl0ve wrote:I used to get some really insane messages in VT3. That game really seemed to bring out the worst in people, myself included. The top players all had magnificent excuses when I beat them.

One guy (not a top player just a random dork) told me that I would never beat him if I didn't come to the net so much...he told me if I was a man or something, that I'd agree to play him just from the baseline.

I 'agreed' and came to the net every point for about 2 games then he just quit

That guy seriously thought coming to the net and hitting volleys was 'cheap'

LOL...I played someone like that in VT 2009. I love volleying in that game and try to come in whenever possible. My opponent on this particular occasion was playing really well at first, so I was stuck rallying with him on the baseline. Eventually he started to slip up a bit and I was able to come to the net more and take control of the match. I finally broke his serve once, and sure enough, he immediately quit!

I sent him a message asking what happened, and he proceeded to give me a detailed explanation of how net play is cheap and reduces the match to a game of chance. Uh...what? I was bored, so I humored him and we literally went back and forth for over an hour, no exaggeration. Like the guy you talked about (heck, it was probably the same dude), he was convinced that I only resorted to the dirty, dishonorable tactic of volleying because I couldn't beat him from the baseline.

I agree that VT tends to bring out the worst in people. It's just the nature of the game, and that's a big reason why I've given up on it.

i asked him, and he answered that it was very simple, the coefficient on line is the experiece on line. :wee

Max you left one of our non-itst matches because you claimed I was risk slicing too much! Pot calling the kettle black don't you think!!!

P.S.: I still don't know how to use risk...

Yes i left our match, but i didn´t say u a stupid reason, u were hitting short slice after service at least 2 times per game, may be was not risk, but short slice after service with MS is very bored, i played with MS because i know u only are playing now in MS tour, but your tactic was not funny for me.

You just mean when somebody hits the net, right?? That's actually not a glitch, technically...maybe you know this, but there are two kind of 'secret shots' in VT3, the 'flat shot' and the drop volley, and they're both performed with the same controller motion. You can hit the ball harder than otherwise possible with a flat shot, but it's difficult to time (especially online) and if you mistime it, you end up hitting a lob. I call them secret because they're not in the manual and they're not documented anywhere in writing aside from other VT3 players on the xbox.com forums.

Aaaaanyways, the 'netcord glitch' is really just a mistimed flat shot. If you attempt a flat shot on a ball that's at or near the height of the net, the ball's going to hit the net and 10 times out of 10 bounce over to your opponent's side, often for a very annoying 'winner'. A lot of people abused this.
