Don't get me wrong, lobs are easy to hit, and like you said, relatively easy to put away if you just hold off pressing the button until its rising up. Although as coke said, I like an opponent trying to outsmart me with passing me or vice versa, and then after a few failed attempts and exchanges then hitting a lob...just a personal preference I suppose.

The best lob is when i hit a drop shot near the net for example, then my opponent manages to not only get to the net but then hits a lob and I can only watch it soar over my head saying too good!

Good lobs though are hard to hit. I can only hit good lobs when my opponent hits a weak volley, when I have loads of time to get into position and lob. In my view, not a cheap shot...

I agree 100%. I've never been beaten by a lob when I hit a good volley.

i think that hit a good lob when u are running and you rival is a good volleyer is dificult, at least for me, and i don't think is cheap, obviously a lob in the middle of a rally is ridiculous

Sometimes it's impossible to hit a pass when your opponent is already at the net.
I personally like to hit lobs, because I know when they do work, my opponents are gonna be pissed at the other end.
Do you agree, Rob and Baghdad?

I don't know.. some of those sim rallies can go on forever so as long as the lob isn't abused to the point of being cheesy, I don't see a problem with trying to use it as a sort of moonball shot in the middle of a rally to try and break up the pace a bit..although saying that, I guess holding down the topspin button long enough with lt would generate a more realistic looking moonball shot than the Y lob button. I love it sometimes in these sim rallies where my opponent and I get caught up in these sort of moonball rallies where we both try and press each other behind the baseline as far as possible

The long-pressed top spin shot is NOT moonball!
Moonball is the kind of shots for you to get back into position, these hit by Mack, Anteros, etc are aggressive shots.
I got pushed so far back, it's not funny being bullied.

i think against a low power player, and you are a quick player eg a burns vs burns match, you could use the lob as a moonball, sprint to net and put away the low powered pass....
