Best Topspin Match EVER vs Emate007...

Postby Baghdad Baghdatis » Sat, 06 Mar 2010 14:38

Well, I have been playing this game since June 2009 and I have got to say that I have just played, by far, the best match ever against Emate007.

By best match I mean the quality of the tennis from both of us was sublime. It was one of those matches that had everything including rallies, volleys, serve volleys, risk, non risk, fair play + some unbelievable shot making.

I couldn't of cared less if I won or lost this match, it was one of those matches that really didn't matter because it was that good. No disrespect to Emate007, I see him as a joker and good guy on the forums and an average skilled player who plays only a handful of matches in ITST - fair enough.

But today he played like a champ and I really felt like I was playing a mix between Rob ITST (S+V) + Anteros (all round game) at their best

I used Cannon & Emate used Bishop...Stats:

1st Serve % 75 vs 70
Win % 1st serve 70 vs 71
Win % 2nd serve 73 vs 68
Aces 2 vs 2
Double faults 2 vs 2
Winners 63 vs 65
Unforced errors 22 vs 22
Break points 0/8 vs 1/4
Total points 126 vs 127

It could not of been any closer (7-6, 5-7, 7-6).

As cheesy as this is when I look back in a few years and topspin has left me behind, I will remember being number 1 SIM (for a bit) but also the legendary match with emate007 - so thanks dude!

P.s. Where you drunk?

Fuck-in a, I was drunk. But somehow able to transcend that and play out of my head? :?
Yeah, I don't mind losing this kind of match because it was so damn exciting. So many games could have gone either way. Really liked how you mixed in some SV on seemingly random points.
Honestly, I expected to win by the end, seemed like I was holding pretty easily and I thought I had you when you were serving at both 4-5 AND 5-6 in the third. Clutch performance man!
I would like to point out that I held serve every time, that was a new experience for me. :D :D

Epic stuff, appreciate everything you said. It's like I "get" the game now, I might as well have been playing with one hand until the last few weeks.

Now this is the kind of positive match experiences we want to hear about 8) Sounds like it was a cracker.
I'm having a rough time with sim which is disappointing as I thought it would really suit my game but it hasn't happened at all  I'm an unforced error mess with no patience at the moment. I don't know..guess just not making the necessary adjustments for sim from the 40-90 tour.

Emate, yes I also thought you had a good chance to win - it really could of gone either way. Your serve accuracy was very effective btw.

Another reason that your guy was so good was that he was that darn ugly he was putting me off on key points with his wrinkled glare!

Mack, I too am quite surprised you say you are struggling with SIM - i played you a couple of times a month or so ago and i thought you looked pretty darn good - plus i too would think your game suits SIM because of your rally ability, hmmm, some more practice me thinks :)

hahaha, that's always been my 'X' factor! For the first two years, my only real 'skills' in TS3 have been the character creator and talking shit. It's good to branch out I guess...

Underestimate emate at your own perrel, he's game has improved ten fold I've had a couple close encounters with him. He's serve is so hard to return Great player.

Serve might be harder to return now... when I can hit the box. Just laid an egg against norberto yesterday, 8 double faults, 2 on break points :stupd

Most frustrating loss I can remember, made it waaay to easy on him.

But thanks, appreciate the compliment. I really do feel much more competitive in general, despite my 'relapse' yesterday.

Interestingly enough, tonight I had what thus far has been my craziest and most enjoyable match in ITST exhibition so far. It was against joesixtoe in the SIM format. He won at (6-7, 7-6, 4-6).

It was a ridiiiiculous match though! We were even at 113 points a piece. I was very aggressive with 60 winners and he was playing OUTSTANDING defensive offensive to counter. We had countless rallies that went on for ages, all of which featured pretty much every shot imaginable. We went into the 3rd set with our guys both flashing red tired it was crazy.

For me it was really the perfect ITST experience.
Norberto H or bust.
