Inter Top Spin Tour Rules
(select your preferred language)
To be able to participate in the ITST you will have to take the following rules into account:
Part II: General ITST Rules
1) Before you can play in one of our tournaments, it is required that you register yourself as a member of the ITST first. You can only register one account and that is the only account you can play with on the ITST, unless Management directs otherwise. If you attempt to play the tour with more than one account, you will be banned from the site. If you would like to change the name you have registered with, please contact a member of the Management team, and he will change it for you. Do not create a new account with your new name.
2) To be entered into a tournament, you must sign up for it manually - you are not automatcially entered into tournaments. Tournaments which are available for signup can be found on the tournament page, and also on the home page.
If you are unable to sign up for a tournament, it is likely that you have not registered yourself as a player for that particular tour. In this case, go to your Personal Page, click "Change your user profile", and make sure you have checked the box next to the tour you wish to play. Then, click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.
3) The draw for a tournament is normally made on Sunday evening, or maybe earlier when the tournament has been filled completely (you will also be notified by email if you have chosen to receive ITST email on your Personal Page). Once the draw has been made, you can see who your opponent is by viewing your Personal Page. There you will see an option to send them a Private Message (PM). A PM is the best way to schedule your matches, as the Tournament Host can monitor these. You should contact your opponent as soon as possible to arrange a time and date for your match to be played. If your opponent does not respond to your PM, please send another one. If he still doesn't respond, please notify the Tournament Host of the situation.
If the ITST site Private Messaging system is offline for any reason, you may send your opponent an email instead but you must send a copy of that email to the Tournament Host also, so he knows you've been in touch with your opponent. When you send a Private Message this is not necessary (and not even possible) since the Tournament Host has access to the Private Messages sent.
4) In the case that a match does not get played, the Tournament Host will review the PM's that have been exchanged between opponents, and use them to decide which, if either, should advance in a tournament. If the host determines that one player deserves to move forward in the tournament, that player will be given a "walkover". If the host determines that neither player deserves to advance, he will decide to make it a "no match". If you lose a match by "walkover" or "no match", you will not receive any points for that tournament, regardless of which round you are in.
The ITST Hosts cannot check messages sent through Playstation Network, Xbox Live, or msn, so you are urged to only use the ITST Private Messaging system. If you do contact your opponent through other means, ensure that a Private Message has also been sent through the ITST site.
5) If you are unable to connect to your opponent due to technical reasons, please contact the Tournament Host immediately. Often times this is caused by improper router or modem settings, and the Host may be able to assist you in correcting these issues. If you cannot solve the problem, the Host will decide on the appropriate course of action.
6) You're obliged to play on the court that has been dedicated to the tournament. The court specified for each tournament will be listed on the tournament page. Please play your matches on this specific court. If your opponent only wants to play on another court, please notify the Tournament Host. It doesn't matter which player hosts the game. You can decide this with your opponent.
7) If you're playing a match and you have a lot of lag problems, please do not quit the match but play until the end and notify the Tournament Host of your problems after the game.
8) Every tournament round has a deadline. This means that on the day of the deadline, it is the last day to get your match played in that specific round. Deadlines are deadlines and they are there for a reason, be sure you stick to them. If your opponent has not shown up on the time you both agreed to, please inform the Tournament Host. They will decide on the appropriate course of action. Please do not attempt to give yourself a walkover by submitting a score - only submit a score if you have actually played the match.
9) The winner is responsible for reporting the match score. This is done by going to the tournament page and clicking on the link to report results there. Please don't send in fake results as we will ban you from the Tour if we find out about it. After you have reported the score, you should check to see who your next opponent is, and begin scheduling your next match.
10) Tournaments will be played by the best of 3 sets principle, with each set made up of 6 games. The exceptions are the Grand Slam tournaments, which will be best of 5 sets throughout the tournament.
11) When 2 tournaments of the same Tour start on the same date, you can only register for one of them! When another tournament starts for example a week after tournament 1, you are allowed to play in both tournaments. You can sign up for 1 tournament of each Tour, so this means that it is possible to play in 3 tournaments starting on the same date, when they are all seperate Tours (Regular, SIM, Female).
12) Please do not register for a tournament if you aren't available for play during a specific round. If you do not play your match, you will get no points whatsoever from that tournament. It doesn’t matter what round you were in!
13) Many different members have different opinions about what exactly is a cheesy tactic. If the entire community finds a tactic cheesy though we will ask every member to refrain from using this tactic in the future. If you want to read more about these tactics check out this forum post: CLICK. If you wonder if one of your tactics is considered cheesy or not the forum is again the place to be. Our members there are more then willing to answer your questions. 14) Our community is a community where young and old gather to have fun. Thats why we have some rules in effect concerning behaviour on the forum or towards other members. Please read these rules here: CLICK.
15) If you encounter someone who breaks one of the rules stated above please do not quit the match immediatly. Some cheesy shots can be played by your opponent by accident. If your opponent keeps breaking the rule please quit the match and contact your opponent about it directly. Try to start the match again from the point where your opponent did a wrong shot. If your opponent does not quit with breaking the rules you can quit the match and contact the host about it. He will make a decision about the match then.
16) Please do not submit a result of an unfinished match. If your opponent left in the middle of the match or your opponent does not stop breaking the rules you still need to contact the host of the tournament. He will then make a decision about the match.
17) ITST Hosts are volunteers and are very important for the daily progress of the site. They should be treated with the respect they deserve. Insults towards ITST Hosts will not be tolerated.
18) If you have made a donation to ITST and you get banned from the site because you violated our rules, the ITST is not obliged to pay back the donation you have made.
19) If you have any questions about any of the rules, please feel free to post them on our forum. Our members and staff are always happy to help new members. You may also contact any member of the ITST Management team - Rob ITST, Cro Morgan, or Slicer ITST.
